2nd Annual Baby Mama Bash

Many of you are probably asking, "What the heck is a baby mama bash?"

WEEEELLLLL

I have a group of girls that I have known for about 10 years now.

We all used to get together about twice a year...once for Halloween and once to float the river in the summer.

We all started getting married and/or having babies and those fun trips got put on the back burner.

Birthday parties and get togethers became fewer and farther between.

We decided we would make a conscious effort to get together.

We started our Baby Mama Bash.

We all get together...make some yummy food...have some cocktails...and laugh at where our lives were and where they are now.

We have a GREAT time!!!

This morning I am insprired by...

FREE LATTE's!!!

I got a free latte at Starbucks this morning!!

If you are a Starbucker...and live near a Kroger that has one...

GET YOUR COFFEE THERE!!!

Every few drinks is FREE!!!

AND they give you survey's for $1 off all of the time...so forget that come back after 2 and get a $2 drink mess...

If I had another espresso at 2 in the afternoon I would be up until the next morning.

So as I was getting my free latte I was inspired by pumpkins.

There are mini pumpkins in Kroger that I want to get for my class to paint.

This is where it is great to have a small class because I can do these types of things and not break the bank.

We are having a Halloween party and this would be a fun activity.

There is a part of me that wants to do it a little before so that we can enjoy them...but the realistic side of me says...there is no room...

That is the perfect party activity!

And of that...the idea was born.

I'll post the fun!!

Music Speaks to Me

It always has.

What I feel when I hear good music is indescribable. 

It is almost like the feeling that I get during a good sermon at church.

...like they are speaking directly to me.

Yesterday I was riding home and heard a song and thought to myself, "I want to hear that in the morning...I want to start my day with that song..."

This morning I got in my car and the second song I hear was THE SONG I ASKED FOR!!

He was listening.

When I get here early in the mornings I look for creative inspiration. 

This helps me manage my day better.

Usually Pinterest is my creative go to...but this morning it is music.

I have my Motown and Mas mix on shuffle on my iHome radio.

Right now I am listening to Luther...

This Friday Martha and I are going to a concert with Joe, Brian McKnight, and Lyfe Jennings...

Martha is like me in this aspect.

She is a creative...and music inspires her...speaks to her...

On another note,

I have some cute posts coming to share that I am excited for.

I have been able to sprinkle a little bit of thoughtfulness and craftiness into my world!!

We had Bosses Appreciation day yesterday and  I took the reigns for the SPED department doing.

I also have a sweet goodie holder I am working on for Arden's Fall Festival at her school!!

I am catching better footing on life everyday!!

Right now, I am interrupting...

And just like that...

Yesterday is over...and today has started anew.

Yesterday was not a bad day. 

It could ALWAYS be worse...

on the flip side...it could ALWAYS be better.

I had a student GO OFF and melt all the way down.

One student...ah...

Oh, but no...

This one student set other students off.

Then I had to turn on my mean teacher voice on for my social skills friends.

I just expect more out of them.

Especially one of them.

I don't think I will have anymore issues.

I envoked Nina Kay and Big Jack method.

I'm not mad at you guys...I am just really disappointed because I know you are so much better than that.

The hardest part was breaking some of our traditions...

meaning what they get to do after they work and what their rewards are.

They got the B list rewards instead of the good stuff.

I think my message was delivered and received...

And just like that...

Today is a new day.

We will try again.

As I sit here in this quiet classroom I am reminded of this simple truth.

This used to be one of my favorite times at Chili's.

The silent...

This is one of my favorite times here...

In the silent.

I am fully aware that in a matter of minutes my day is going to TAKE OFF!!!

There is the possibility of potty accidents, run aways, and meltdowns...and that is only in the first 5 minutes.

My days here are full!

Of love, of life, of energy, of possibilities...and my favorite...of impossibilities.

So as I enjoy these last minutes of silence I will remind myself...

My FIRST Newborn Session

I had a visit from the Collins crew today. 

I quite enjoyed it.

Watching Trudi nurse and love on her sweet boy gives me baby fever.

Luckily my sensible side realizes that I couldn't handle two bittles.
(No typo...it a name changer thing...)

Take newborn pictures & make birth announcements.

I have recently gotten into the invitation/announcement business and I quite like it!!

This was my first newborn session so I was a bit intimidated, but my sister has given me some great advice in the past.
